| I (Angel) was born
September 16, 1992. I came to live with
Ilene and Bob Waite on December 22, 1993. They lived in Olympia Fields,
Illinois. The house was good because a dog could see (and I could see
then) out of windows in almost every room. There were lots of trees and
squirrels. I liked to chase the squirrels and one day I caught one, but,
when I set it down to get a better grip on it, it ran away. I never caught
another one. |

Sadie, a
Dalmatian, lived next door. Sometimes she got out of her yard and came to
visit me at one of the windows (see right). I watched the squirrels out the
window (see left). |
 |
| I had lots of toys.
My favorite toy is my Squeaky. It's a yellow fish and I just love
it. I liked to chase toys that people would throw for me. For some
strange reason these people started putting Squeaky on their heads. I
would jump and get him or climb up somewhere and get him, but I would get
him!! The picture on the left below shows Squeaky on EJ's head, with Marlene
and Steve Tottenhoff watching. |

In the middle above
Carl DeNapoli is playing with me.
Ilene and Bob's daughter, Dorothy,
is one of my favorite people. She married this guy, Robert, who is really
good at playing. He called me by my name in Spanish, so I am
bi-lingual. Robert has Squeaky on his head in the picture on the right.
Grandma Goldie (Bob's Mom) is watching. |

On the left I am marching in the
July 4th parade in Homewood with the Amnesty International group. On
the right we are attending a pizza party at the DeNapoli's house. |
 |
 |
We took a trip out
west to the Grand Canyon and back by way of Texas and New Mexico. I visited
with Larry Farnesi (left) and had my first golf cart ride (right). |
 |
| In February of 1996,
Ilene, Bob and I went to Dallas to work at Proko Industries. The
picture at the right shows me in the office in Dallas. Oh yes, I went
to work every day. Scott Hewitt wondered how I would look as Tom
Sawyer. While we were in Dallas, Bob discovered that I was blind in one eye.
The special doggy eye doctor said that I had a detached retina in my left
eye, apparently from birth. He could also see cataracts forming in my
eyes. |

| In June of 1996, we
moved the office of Proko to Cambridge City, Indiana. We had lots of
new people there, although the office wasn't as big. It made my job a
lot easier with less territory to guard. Here I am protecting Scott from the
UPS truck (top right). We always have parties on my birthday. In this
picture, we had just moved into our apartment in Cambridge City (bottom
left). |
 |
While we were moving, we stayed
at the Heim Motel. It had three beds in the room. I jumped from bed to
bed and then looked out the window at the trucks going by (bottom right). |

On October 16, 1996,
Christopher Robert Cribbs was born to Dorothy and Robert. I shared my
Squeaky with him. |

I always could make
Christopher laugh. He liked to play with me. We would play tug (left)
with the Squeaky and sometimes we played chase (below). He was my
first nephew and everybody called me Uncle Angel. I am Dorothy's only
brother. |

 |
| I usually do something special
for Halloween. One year I was a Dalmatian (right) and another year I
was Superdog (far right). |
 |
 |
 |
I had a birthday party every year. As time went
by, I saw less and less. Sometimes, when I was following Ilene around in
case she needed help with something, I would get confused and lose her. She
wired some jingle bells to a safety pin and wore them on her slacks,
Then I could keep track of her!

| Maggie says some
of these pictures aren't very good. Ilene says that's because they are
scanned. We're sorry about that! |
This is me with
Elaine Reed, Ilene and Angel Manious. Our graphic artist was also
named Angel, so sometimes we had three Angels in the office: a man, a woman
and a dog! |
| On February 14, 2000, my second
nephew, Jack William Cribbs was born. By this time, I couldn't see
anything at all. |
 A lot of things
scared me because I couldn't see. This was a hard time for me. |
| Then I developed glaucoma in my
bad eye. We used drops. but there was a lot of pain. In May of
2001, Dr. Vestre removed that eye. It sounds kind of awful, but I just
went to sleep and when I woke up, it was gone and didn't hurt any more. |
This
picture shows the day after the operation. Ilene told everybody that I
got in a bar fight. I just slept a lot for a day and then I was fine.
Sometimes people don't even notice that I have only one eye. Sometimes
Ilene calls me Winky!
 |
| On August 31, 2001, my life
changed forever. That's the day that Maggie came to live with us. I loved
her from the very first day I met her. She came to the office and I followed
her everywhere. |
Don't
you just love her??

She didn't
understand that I was blind. She really helps me take care of Ilene and Bob.
A lot of things that used to scare me are better since Maggie came. |
 |
Maggie wears bells on her collar. I can hear when she runs, then I
know that I can run safely. I like to be with her, It's so good
to have a friend!! |
 |
| It is good that Maggie came to
help me with the nephews (she's Aunt Maggie). |
Maggie can play with the nephews and they need that. She is the boss
around our house which is okay with me. |
Maggie and I were
both used dogs. Maggie used to live on the street. |
| We don't know when Maggie's
birthday is so we celebrate August 31, when she came to live with us. Last
year we went out to dinner for her birthday at The Palais Royal in
Centerville.. |

EJ
Constantin was with us. He took the picture. Maggie never had a birthday
party before. She liked it. I hope we have a cake next year. |
